Powered by Discovery Education, learning is a primary emphasis on every Discovery Student Adventure—before, during, and after the journey.
Each Discovery Student Adventure is supported by multimedia curriculum and rich and experiential activities, helping students not only complete the requirements for high school credit, but also build a lasting curiosity about the world. In addition, the videos and lesson plans are a wonderful way to integrate each destination into the classroom experience for the many students who may not have the opportunity to join a Discovery Student Adventure.
Teachers guide their students through a variety of educational opportunities including:
- Pre-travel lessons that can be adapted to students interests
- Videos to prompt pre-travel discussions and questions
- Thematic units for each destination
- Guided discussions at each activity during travel
- Nightly group meetings to distill the learnings of the day
- Explanation of the post-travel assignments and how to fulfill them
- Review of post-trip assignments and award of credit
