Welcome to the sunny Iberian Peninsula, home to the proud nations of Portugal and Spain, each renowned for its passionate arts, friendly people, and festive celebrations. You’ll start off in the famed Algarve region of Portugal, taking in the whitewashed villages, orange and lemon orchards, and eucalyptus groves. Here, you’ll learn the art of traditional azulejo, the ubiquitous colorful tiles found throughout Portugal. Next stop is Andalusia, or southern Spain, where you’ll see firsthand the Moorish influence on this Catholic nation. Explore the amazing Alhambra, one of the greatest expressions of Islamic architecture. Visit a working Spanish finca, or bull farm, and see how matadors train. Learn the art of flamenco, the passionate dance of Spain and make your own paella, a mouth-watering Spanish dish. Last stop is Gibraltar, where you’ll assist marine biologists studying pilot whales and dolphins. After nine days of eating, exploring, and dancing through Southwest Europe, you’ll be singing Ole’ Ole’ Ole’.
