France

  • Climb the iconic and unique Eiffel Tower.

  • Discover the city of Paris around the timeless Notre Dame cathedral and enjoy a guided orientation of the opulent Opera district.
  • Marvel at the masterpieces of the famous Musée du Louvre, including da Vinci’s world-famous Mona Lisa.
  • Walk back in history to World War I as you pay respect at the American Cemetery and the battlefields near Verdun and explore the World War I Museum with your insightful guide.
  • Experience the traditional streets of Strasbourg, with its medieval timbered houses and stunning Gothic cathedral. Understand the city’s political importance as the seat of the European Parliament.
  • Discover the exciting science of molecular gastronomy in a unique cooking class that is part culinary art and part chemistry class. Try your hand at other examples of French cuisine as you’re coached by a local chef.
  • Kayak, canoe, or raft—take your pick—down the Rhine near Huningue, a picturesque French town ringed by towering mountains.

Germany

  • Take in the beautiful Hunsruck mountain range as you camp out under the stars.
  • Cross straight valleys, steep slopes, and the species-rich biosphere reserve of the Middle Rhine. Climb the treetops with ropes and a harness to survey your surroundings.
  • Learn outdoor skills, including how to filter your drinking water from the river, build a tin stove to cook your food at the campfire, make useful tools from tree branches, tie knots, and start a fire without matches.
  • Explore Heidelberg’s sights, including the Altstadt, the massive Heidelberg Castle, and its many churches.
  • See a city of contrasts when you journey to Frankfurt—avant-garde skyscrapers stand next to well-maintained traditional German architecture.
