Grand Canyon

  • Take in the awe-inspiring vistas and surprising colors of the Grand Canyon as you trek from the South Rim.
  • Learn about the California condor, considered one of the rarest birds in the world, and its successful reintroduction to the Grand Canyon.

Tucson

  • Discover fascinating real-time research on the future of our planet as it unfolds in the specially designed mini-world, Biosphere 2. Explore the biomes and go below the surface to see the technosphere that regulates the system and sustains its multitudes of specimens.
  • Visit Saguaro National Park, just 15 miles west of downtown Tucson. Enjoy a breathtaking view of thousands of saguaros, the towering cactus known as the giant of the desert.
  • Learn about the unique ecosystems of the desert through a hands-on course with resident experts at the Center for Sonoran Desert Studies.
  • Explore Old Tucson Studios, the movie set of the Old West, and learn stunt secrets.
  • Venture into Tombstone, one of the most notorious towns of the Old West.
  • Take a stagecoach through old Tombstone past such sights as the O.K. Corral and Birdcage Theater while learning about some of the Old West’s most famous characters, such as Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.
  • Spelunk the limestone cave system of Kartchner Caverns. Learn about the caverns’ living species and view their fanciful features.
  • Visit the Pima Air & Space Museum and explore the hangars, housing such aircraft as the SR-71 Blackbird and B-29 Superfortresses. Continue your exploration into the adjacent aircraft “bone yard.”

Flagstaff

  • Explore Montezuma Well and Montezuma Castle. Montezuma Well is a unique geological structure and home to species found nowhere else on the planet. These amazing prehistoric cliff dwelling pueblo ruins show the long history this area holds.
  • Try your hand at being a cowboy, or cowgirl, as you saddle up and overnight on an operating Western ranch. See the mighty Longhorn cattle and enjoy horseback rides through the stunning Arizona desert.
